On October 2, 2010, twenty-one dedicated H.O. scale slot car racers (6 children and 15 adults) gathered at the home of Harvey Goodwin of Pennsauken to honor the passing of his younger

brother, Willy from Cancer. We raced on a routed 16ft table which had a running length of 84 ft.

Each racer ran for 1 ˝ minutes on each lane of the 4 lane track.

Totals were kept by the Trakmate computer program for all the participants. The G-Jet cars for this race were graciously provided by Scale Auto/BSRT.

The winner for the children was Olivia Bouvier of Merchantville and the winner of the adult

segment was Sam Heller of Phoenixville, Pa. The children were given Hula hoops and footballs for their event and the adults were awarded trophies with engraved plates commemorating the event.

The purpose of the event was to raise money for a donation to the American Cancer Society.

To that end with entry fees and donations of friends and family over $550 was raised.

Willy’s wife Jane, my wife Linda and I thank all the racers and people who freely contributed to

this effort.
