The first ECRS race of 2010 was held on the same day as the Willy Memorial Race on Rabbit Raceway. You know the track with the thick high rails where everyone was searching for the largest diameter tires in their box.

Slammin Sam won the G Jet race (adult section) and 7 yr old Olivia Bouvier won the children’s portion...

Super stock was next up. The power was reset to 18 volts and the screaming beasts were let loose for practice, G3R’s, T Cats and Storms soon found the correct tires and we were on!  A second chance race was run with Kevin making the Semi.  Fast as lightening, Pete won the semi, Tony second 5 laps back, Sam 4 laps behind him and Steve J 2 more behind. The final race was held and the finish was the same.

Pete 234 laps G3R

Tony 232 Flex T3

Sam 224 Storm and

Steve 217 Flex T3

After eating some great food served by Miss Linda, on to the rocket fast R/O’s.  Nine racers stayed around for the race. The cars were ballistic as usual with Tony leading the way to the main (203), Pete second (194) Rick close behind (193) and Steve  (192).  Kevin 187, Mustard 184, Wayne 182, Harvey 154 with P/U shoe problems and Sam with an overheating radiator 68.

The main was as usual rocket fast with Tony T2 running away with 339 laps, followed by Rick Storm 327, Pete on his tail T2 326 and Steve Storm 304.

The day was long with three races and was after 10PM when we finished. The food lasted all day and everyone seemed to have had a fun day.

This is the 16th year of racing ECRS. But the first without its founder, Willy.

We all missed him.
